PHD in Architecture, Professor of Architectural Projects at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid (ETSAM) (Madrid Advanced Technical School of Architecture), since 2002. Iñaki Abalos has also been a Kenzo Tange Professor, Design Critic in Architecture, and since 2013 Professor in Residence and Chair of the Department of Architecture at the Graduate School of Design (GSD) at Harvard University.
Also visiting professor at Columbia University, the Architectural Association (AA) in London, the École Polytechnique Féderale de Lausanne (EPFL), Princeton University and Cornell University.
In 2006, in partnership with Renata Sentkiewicz, he founded Abalos+Sentkiewicz. Their work stands out for proposing original synthesis coupled with technical rigour, formal imagination and disciplinary integration between architecture, environment and landscape, an approach they have called “thermodynamic beauty”.
